Time is like water
It slips through your fingers
Cup your hands and you can hold it in them for a minute

Long and long and long ago
The world they said
Was flat
Not round

Imagine for a moment now
The world was really flat
Travel to the farthest edge
And there you’ll see that water flows
Over, off and away into space

Slowly without us even knowing
It’s slipping past
Falling off the edge

Our time in this place
Is short
And not certain

All we can do is live in the present
