       The City of Sault Ste. Marie, Community Services Department, Recreation & Culture Division, operates and staffs two Senior Citizens' Centres. The Mandate of Seniors Services is to provide the opportunity for persons age 55 years or over to participate in meaningful leisure pursuits and to provide services that address the needs of older adults as they relate to information, communication and recreation in facilities that are friendly, clean and safe.

No membership is required for either Centre.

Staff At Your Service
The Corporation of the City of Sault Ste. Marie provides trained staff at both sites to assist with orientation to the Centres and to answer questions regarding programs at either Centre.

Supply lists are given upon paid registration only.


Registration And Payment Options
Register in advance for all programs (some are limited seating)
In person or by phone during regular office hours

Payment for all programs is CASH ONLY
Payment for all programs is due one week in advance of the program.
Failure to pay one week in advance could result in loss of spot in the class/program


Refund Policy
If you have a valid reason for requesting a refund, it will be considered. Please try to give enough notice so staff can resell your ticket to a person on the waiting list or fill your place in the respective program. Money is refundable within a four-week period only. Appropriate approval must be given.



Oh No! You Cancelled It?
Sometimes, excellent courses are cancelled due to low registration. Please register early to avoid disappointment.

Volunteers
Both our Centres depend heavily on volunteers who assist in the operation of many programs, classes, special events and daily operations. We invite you to volunteer and feel the rewards of being a “special member” of our Senior Services family!

Parking
Parking at the Senior Citizens Drop-In Centre is in the lot to the south-east of the building off of Russ Ramsay Way.
Parking at the Steelton Senior Citizens Centre is in the City lot on the north side of Wellington Street or on either side of the building.
