Old Business

Road Maintenance
In the spring of 2007 damage was caused by Pioneer’s grader, to the surface treatment at the end of the road where the grader turns around. This has not been completely repaired. Scott will ensure that Pioneer completes this repair properly through the use of the Maintenance Hold Back Agreement. MTO assured us they will do the repair in the Spring 2009.

Brascan-Brookfield
Questions were asked about Brascan’s payment to the Roads Board. It was explained that $4200.00 a year was paid and that $1100.00 went towards Red Rock Roads Board taxes as per assessment value.
It was suggested that a meeting should be held with Brookfield to complain about the city’s portion of the road.
It was mentioned that Brookfield may have given funds to the city for re-surfacing and they were holding back. It was suggested that the chairman of the Roads Board call Brookfield to ask if this was the case.

Assessment
s
Mention was made that in 2009 there will be a new market value and assessment will change.

New Business

Road Condition/Work
The first kilometer had the double surface treatment.
Landowners mentioned that there were potholes in the new section of Lakeshore Dr. The reason is surfacing was put over the existing surface.

Members were inquiring if the jobs being done by MTO were being supervised at the time they were being done. They were concerned it was not inspected until after completion. It is important that an official be there at the time the job is being done. MTO insisted that in the future, someone will be there to supervise or the job will have to wait.

There were concerns about ditching. How far should they dig and how deep. Not too close to the road.
It was suggested that MTO put reflection signs up to show the location of the ditches.

There were concerns about travelers on the road that travel the centre of the road. Maybe signs put up to “Keep Right”. There was discussion about painting a centre line, but the cost would be too great.

There will be no brushing in 2009. During Spring Road Tour they will decide what areas should have ditching.
It was decided that ditching should increase and decease brushing.

Minimum tax
Next on the agenda was the minimum tax. A motion was made by Domenic DiSisto and seconded by Larry Masters to leave the tax at $200.00. By show of hands, the motion was carried.

Nominations for Trustees for 2009
Laura Coccimiglio, Chris Carter, Karen Raybould, Mark Dockendorff and Jack Porco were nominated.
Laura Coccimiglio and Jack Porco declined. Mark Dockendorff was unable to stand. Chris Carter, Karen Raybould accepted. Dan O’Connor was asked to stand in place of Mark and he accepted.
