MINUTES OF ANNUAL MEETING
OCTOBER 17, 2007


Minutes are provided to Sault Seller by the Red Rock Roads Board and are not altered from the original source.

The annual Red Rock Roads Board meeting began at 7:00 p.m. at the Marconi Hall.. Thirty landowners were present. Chris Carter, Chairperson for the Board introduced the Head Table. Jamie Vachon, Municipal Supervisor from MTO, Roger Bangs, Senior Municipal Supervisor, Laura Coccimiglio and Karen Rebould Trustees and Brenda DiSisto, Roads Board Secretary Treasurer.

Brenda read the minutes from the meeting held in 2006. There were no errors or omissions and the minutes were accepted by James Mancuso and seconded by Domenic DiSisto.

Roger Bangs read the report of Receipts and Expenditures for MTO.

There were comments from the floor on whether Brascan will repair the damages to the road. They were not satisfied with the road and feel Brascan should do more.

Suggestions were made that the Board should get in contact with Brascan concerning the city portion of the road that needs a lot of work. It was suggested that a committee should contact them regarding the city portion. The Roads Board is concentrating on getting results for the Roads Board portion, and is dealing with them regarding the assessment value etc.

Motion to accept the MTO’s report from James Mancuso and seconded by Donna Holmberg.

Brenda read the Red Rock Local Roads Board’s Statement of Receipts and Expenditures.

Old Business


Under Old Business, there was discussion about the yield sign at Red Rock Road and Lakeshore Dr . On the Spring Road Tour 2007, Chris returned the Warning Yeild sign to the MTO so that they could put it back up. It was discussed that the Comrif Grant was not granted. There were questions about the process of the grant and why do we think it was not accepted. It was mentioned that the grant was given to areas of greater needs and our area was not a priority.

New Business


Under New Business the topic of the Federal Tax Gas grant was discussed. $14,588.00 was granted to our Road Board over 5 years. The MTO with the Road Board will discuss how these funds will be spent.

Brushing was discussed.

Also there were concerns that there was damage done with the winter plowing.

Minimum Tax


Next on the agenda was the minimum tax. A motion was made by Mario Tomasone and seconded by Jerry Maione to leave the tax at $200.00. By show of hands, all in favour of leaving the minimum tax at $200.00.

Nominations for Trustees


Next were the nominations for trustees for 2008.
Laura Coccimiglio was nominated by Mary Siklosi, Karen Raybould was nominated by Domenic DiSisto and Chris Carter was nominated by James Mancuso. All chose to accept the nominations.

The 2008 trustees are Laura Coccimiglio, Chris Carter and Karen Raybould. Chris Carter is the chairperson.

Adjournment


A motion to adjourn the meeting was made by James Mancuso and seconded by Brenda Martel.

Meeting adjourned at 9:00 P.M.

Non-Local Roads Board Issues


Discussion was held that a volunteer was needed to manage ‘911’ (emergency system number)

Domenic DiSisto offered to take over the 911 numbers.

Next we discussed the Waste management Committee. Sheila Walsh is in charge and can be contacted at snwmc@sympatico.ca.

Next issue discussed was Break-Ins/Cottage Security. There were many concerns on this. Landowners were discussing the number of cottages that had been broken into.

Dan O’Connor offered to look into ways of monitoring the area and maybe coming up with something that would be helpful with the security of the area.

Mark Dockendorff and Joe DiSisto formed a committee that would look into approaching Brascan to contact the city to look after the city portion of the road.

The meeting adjourned at 9:15 P.M.
