Welcome to the Red Rock Record's Real Time Updates
News Headlines We're out of milk, again... errr! A&P opens 24/7 in Red Rock? No! However, there is a growing number of Red Rockers who would rather not drive into town for some simple things they run out of or forget to bring along to camp during the summer. A weekend general store would be nice! A small counter type store that would stock some basic canned and dry foods, bottled pop and water, basic cottage needs like tissue, soap, and fly repellent would be convenient. Certainly, there are some who would not think this to be a great idea; fearing increased traffic. Being a store that would open for set hours during the weekend, it would mostly be frequented by cottagers and it would not draw a higher level of traffic from the Soo. For the individual who is not concerned with a large profit, but is interested in providing a service without a financial loss, his or her contribution to our community should be encouraged and supported. Taking your children or grandchildren for a Saturday afternoon walk to the "General Store", is not only convenient for picking up some essentials, but they sure would appreciate a refreshing ice cream cone or a cold soft drink on a hot day.
News Headlines Sasquatch Spotted - Careful Where You Park
Was it Sasquatch with a new piece of heavy equipment or did someone not realize this was a driveway (photo left)? Only a day after the ditching was done, this summer, it appeared that Sasquatch visited and left some big sized prints (photo right). As Sasquatch ages, he appears to be in need of a pair of eyeglasses and to reduce his weight by a ton or so. Even though the footprints were very deep, revealing the top of the culvert pipe, experts concluded that Sasquatch had not eaten his breakfast because the results of an extensive examination of the inside of the pipe showed no signs of structural damage. News Headlines Beauty and the Beast
The Beauty and the Beast of Red Rock is all too real. Autumn is a beautiful time of the year, most would agree. However, sometimes the towering walls of colour presented by the trees along the Red Rock Road prove to be a facade. Behind the walls awaits a display of vandalism. Hard to believe in such a quaint and neighbourly community. Sure it is not a daily occurrence, however it happens. Break-ins and vandalism have been showing their ugly faces in the last few years, more than before. If you see any suspicious people or unusual occurrences, please contact the O.P.P. at 945-6833 or toll free 1-888-310-1122.
