Memoriam notice |
 |
No one knows how much I miss you,
No one knows the bitter pain,
I have suffered, since I lost you,
Life has never been the same.
In my heart your memory lingers,
Sweetly tender, fond and true,
There is not a day, my dear husband,
That I do not think of you.
- Always and Forever
your loving wife, Margaret
We long for household voices gone,
For vanished smiles we long,
Your presence we miss,
Your memory we treasure,
Loving you always,
Forgetting you never.
- With deepest love
your sons Michael,
James & Pon (daughter-in-law) |

DENTIST VISITS LAKESHORE |
|
|
|
Well, not a real dentist...
If you are heading out to camp this weekend, you will notice there has been considerable brushing done along the roadsides and ditches of Lakeshore Drive. That's right, the monster brush was out giving Red Rock roadways a thorough cleaning.
Also, ask your children to avoid playing in these areas that have been brushed. This operation has left behind many sharp pointed stumps of small trees and shrubs in the ditches and along the roadside. |

RED ROCK RECYCLERS |
Hang on to those recyclables...
Monthly recycling is now a reality for the Red Rocker. May 2, June 6 and July 4 are the first days set for the program. It appears to be the first Friday of every month. For more details refer to the flyer from Sault North included in the latest mail out from the Red Rock Roads Board Committee.

RED ROCK SPEEDSTERS |
What's your rush? ...
The concerns of Red Rockers are being directed to the speedsters again. It would seem that some people think the municipal section of Red Rock Road is the 401. There have been close calls and near accidents in the recent past. Consider that most cell phones are not operative in the area and EMS will be delayed in making it to the scene of an accident (time of notification and distance to travel), any accident can develop into something far more serious.
So... slow down and keep to your right side!

THE ESSENTIALS |
We're out of milk, again... errr!
A&P opens 24/7 in Red Rock? No! However, there is a growing number of Red Rockers who would rather not drive into town for some simple things they run out of or forget to bring along to camp during the summer. A weekend general store would be nice! A small counter type store that would stock some basic canned and dry foods, bottled pop and water, basic cottage needs like tissue, soap, and fly repellent would be convenient.
Certainly, there are some who would not think this to be a great idea; fearing increased traffic. Being a store that would open for set hours during the weekend, it would mostly be frequented by cottagers and it would not draw a higher level of traffic from the Soo.
For the individual who is not concerned with a large profit, but is interested in providing a service without a financial loss, his or her contribution to our community should be encouraged and supported. Taking your children or grandchildren for a Saturday afternoon walk to the "General Store", is not only convenient for picking up some essentials, but they sure would appreciate a refreshing ice cream cone or a cold soft drink on a hot day.

RED ROCK DIRECTORY |
Red Rock Directory -
The Red Rock Record is in the process of creating a Red Rock Directory. The purpose for this directory is to promote awareness and communication which will assist us in keeping our community secure. In order to be included in the directory, you can email us to submit your name, phone number and fire# (emergency number). For seasonal residents you can include your home phone number if you wish. In order to be listed, you must have a telephone number or fire number for your cottage/home. There will be no listings for vacant lots. With respect to privacy, the directory will be made available only to other Red Rockers upon request. It will not be posted for public viewing on this site.

ANNUAL RED ROCK MEETING |
Annual Meeting -
This year's annual meeting was well attended by the concerned land/cottage owners of Red Rock. Some of the meeting highlights included the concern over the condition of the city portion of the road, installing a security camera or taking other measures as a proactive approach to security/crime prevention because of an increase in B&Es, spring shrubbing projects, and road tax remains at the same rate. Trustees - Chris Carter, Laura Coccimiglio and Karen Raybould were given the thumbs up for their hard work over the last year and were voted in for another one-year term to the Roads Board. Details of the meeting will be posted here on the Red Rock Record as soon as they become available.
Until changes are implemented to deter illegal activity in our community, we should become more aware of suspicious vehicles and people. Please contact the O.P.P. Detachment at 945-6833 or toll free 1-888-310-1122 to report the above mentioned.

The moment that you died,
My heart split in two,
The one side filled with memories,
The other died with you.
I often lay awake at night,
When the world is fast asleep,
And take a walk down memory lane,
With tears upon my cheeks.
Remembering you is easy,
I do it every day,
But missing you is a heartache,
That never goes away.
I hold you tightly within my heart,
And there you will remain,
Life has gone on without you,
But it never will be the same.
For those who still have their husbands,
Treat him with tender care,
You will never know the emptiness,
As when you turn and he is not there.
Always and Forever
your loving wife, Margaret

Though your smile is gone forever,
and your hand we cannot touch,
We still have so many memories,
of the one we loved so much.
Your memory is our keepsake,
with which we'll never part.
God has you in His keeping;
We have you in our hearts.
With deepest love

BEWARE |
Unfortunately, Red Rock has been part of the rising crime statistics in the Sault & Algoma area. Over the last two years there have been a higher number of break-ins resulting in the theft of various costly personal possessions. From defacing/removing signs on landowners' properties to far more serious crimes as theft, the landowners are being asked to keep their eyes open for unusual occurrences. Please contact the O.P.P. Detachment at 945-6833 or toll free 1-888-310-1122 to report the above mentioned.

IT'S
NOT A GO |
Unfortunately, plans to go ahead for
the re-alignment of Red Rock Road through “Bouchard Hill” won't be
happening in the near future. The Red Rock Local Roads Board (RRLRB)
were unsuccessful in securing a grant from the COMRIF program. For further information
on this grant program you can visit www.comrif.ca.

HOLD
YOUR HORSES! |
Red Rock is getting a little bit safer by making
drivers aware of their need to drive carefully. You will notice
a new sign; YIELD. After the Red Rock Local Roads Board (RRLRB)
lobbied for a yield sign for two years, a sign was erected at
the corner of Red Rock Road and Lakeshore Drive for the safety
of our community.
